Volvo is demonstrating how a mathematical technique called Gaussian splatting can capture lifelike clarity from high-fidelity images. The AI-enabled technique breaks the images down into thousands of permutations in a simulation to help train automated driving technology, so instead of learning from one image, researchers learn from thousands.
